Taking a little turn from the science today, we go to Math, where we will not do any major mathematical calculations but will read about some of the mathematical riddles that sharpen the mind, whose answers you have to give. I also share the solution of these riddles so you can also check your answers and judge your potential about solving riddle. So here are some famous mathematical riddles…
Where Is My One Dollar Missing Riddle
Three friends planned to visit a new place, after roaming all day, they went to a hotel in the evening where they booked a room in a hotel. At the hotel, they paid $30 for the room, and they went to the room. After a while, a person from the room service came to them and gave them $5 back and told that the hotel rates are currently under a discount. After that they discussed with each other and then they divided $3 ($1 for each) out of those $5 and gave the remaining $2 to the room service person. At that time they managed, but later when they reach home one thing was above their understanding,
In the hotel, they totally paid $30 means $10 for each then they got back their $1 from the room service person which meant each of them only paid $9. After that, they calculate the remaining $2 which they gave to the room service person as a tip. So total calculation is $9×3 person = $27 + $2(Tip) =$29. So what happened to their other dollar. After all, they paid $30 but accounting for only $29. can you help them, to find their one dollar?
This whole matter is only dependent on the understanding, if seen, they did all the calculation in the wrong way.
In the whole calculation, they only focused on the fact that they paid $30, out of which $29 was found, but not $1, while this is not true. Just look at that whole scene again and you will know that they only spent $27. The rest $3 they got back ($1 each). Out of $27, $25 was charged for their hotel room and $2 they gave as tip. So the calculation was absolutely clear from the beginning, just they did it in a wrong way.
Grandmother’s Will Riddle
An old grandmother gave her will to her lawyer when she died and said that sharing her money in the same way she wrote in it. According to the will of the grandmother, grandmother left half of her money to her granddaughter and half that amount to her grandson. She left a sixth to her brother, and the remainder, $1,000, to the dogs’ home. After reading the will, the lawyer is a little confused, so will you help the lawyer understand that how much did the old grandmother leave altogether?
For this riddle, you need to calculate a little bit, hopefully, you have got the answer. However, if you do not get the correct answer or you want to check your answer then the correct answer is $ 12000. The old grandmother left $12000, the calculation is simple, one half + one quarter(half of the half for grandson)+ one sixth = eleven twelfth. That means the $1000(remainder) is the one-twelfth of the whole and according to it, you can calculate it.
Foreign Country Riddle
This riddle which I’m going to ask you is a foreign country riddle, in which you will get some special conditions. So the riddle is that, suppose that in a country if 1/2 of 5 is = 3, then what is the value of 1/3 of 10 according to the same criteria?
This one is a proper mathematical riddle and the answer to this riddle is 4. Let me explain how it comes…
= ½x5 = 3
= 1/3×1/2×5 = 3/3 = 1
= 1/3×10 = 4
26th Birthday Riddle
This riddle is a little different, which may require a little more attention or maybe less attention, difficult to judge because this puzzle is tied to the numbers as well as logic. So the riddle is that there is a woman whose name is Elizabeth, she was celebrating her 26th birthday today and today she died, and the reason behind her death is her old age. Can you tell how this is possible? How can be anyone died as an old person on his or her 26th birthday?
So the question was, how can be anyone died as an old person on his or her 26th birthday? I know few of us might be thinking now that this can’t be possible but my friend you are wrong because this can be possible, when a person was born on 29th February. And in this question Elizabeth was born on 29th February that means today when she was celebrating her 26th birthday, she was actually 104 years old. See I had already told you, in this puzzle, you have to use your mind a bit more, though, if you have reached the correct answer without doing so, then surely you have a great brain.
Who Will Survive Riddle
Let’s suppose that 100 people are standing in a circle and the first one has a gun in hand, now what he has to do is shoot the second person which is standing next by him and then pass the gun to the person who is standing in the third position. Then the third person has to shoot the fourth person and pass the gun to the fifth person. This process will continue until only one person remain. And when the process will over, can tell me who will survive? Means the no. Of the person?
The answer to this question is 73, let me show you how. So the question is a little bit big but finding the answer to this riddle is not so hard. If the number of people is a power of 2, then the last person standing will be the person who began this. Here we have 100 people, so, we will take the highest power of 2 which is less than the total number which is 64.
100 – 64 = 36. This means that 36 people are killed.
If you go on with the series of even numbers, the 36 people will end at 72 (2, 4, 6, …, 72). Thus the gun will be in the hand of the 73rd person. Now the remaining people are 64 which is the power of 2. Thus the person who will survive in the end will be the 73rd person since he is starting it. So the no. 73rd will be the only person who survives in this riddle.
Remaining Cards Riddle
Out of a full set of the cards I have removed some cards and separated them, The number of those cards is so that, if I try to divide them equally in 4 people, then 3 cards out of them will remain. And if I try to divide them equally in 3 people, then 2 cards out of them will remain, and if I try to divide them equally in 5 people, then 2 cards out of them will remain. So with these statics, can you help me to find out how many cards are there?
So there are total 47 cards. If I divide them equally in 4 people so everyone will get 11 cards so that they will have a total of 44 cards and the remaining 3 cards which we can not divide among 4 people. Now if I divide them equally in 3 persons then each person will get 15 cards and 2 cards will remain. Similarly, when I divide these cards among 5 individuals, each person will get 9 cards and 2 cards will remain.
Finding Between Riddle
Another tricky and logical riddle for which you have to put a little bit extra effort, so the riddle is, What can be kept between 5 and 6 so that the result came more than five, but less than six?
So you too stuck in this complicated question, this was also a mathematical and logical question, so the answer is, a point. Yes, if you put one point between 5 and 6, then it will be 5.6 which is not less than 5 and neither will be greater than 6.
Hopefully, you might have liked these mathematical riddles and you would have given the answer to all of these too. If you find a lack in any answer given by me or you have any mathematical riddle that can blow anyone’s mind then you can share it with us in the comments section.
